Germany Arrival

Day 1
The 8 hour flight to Frankfurt took forever; I flew over 4,000 miles out of Illinois and over Wisconsin, Michigan, Canada, Greenland, Ireland, England, Netherlands, Belgium, etc.  The connecting flight to Munich was only 35 minutes long and gave me the chance to see how beautiful the Germany country is; there are perfect farms everywhere with white siding and tan ceiling barns. Once landed we met as a group and went to the Hofbrauhaus for authentic German food & beer and toured Munich.

Day 2
Hostel we stayed in!
Breakfast at the hostel was sandwiches with meat and cheese, fruit, and coffee. I miss eggs and bacon!! Right after breakfast we went on a three hour historical tour of Munich which was very interesting. I walked some of the same walkways Hitler did in his day, along with many famous royalty who had built botanical gardens and extensive buildings in town.  The architecture and age of the city is beautiful, and the cleanliness is amazing.  The unemployment rate is less than 5%, and overall it is more efficient compared to the US.  Cars park on sidewalks wherever they want, that was probably the most strange thing I'm not used to! My absolute favorite thing about Germany so far is the police and fire sirens.. they sound exactly like they do in old movies still! It's so old I love it!
Lunch break in Bavaria was at an old market place with lots of individual shops and fresh produce.
In the afternoon we went on a two and a half hour tour at the Eintrittskarte (Deutsches Museum). It's an unbelievable museum with artifacts from around the world; titanic, oil drilling machinery, submarines, aircrafts, space, electricity, diesel engines, etc. Despite an extensive tour, we only saw 15% of the museum, on average 8,000 guests are there at one time it's HUGE!
Right after the museum Phoebe (Salzburg director) did surveys for housing placement.
